Getting Sued for a Public Record Request
A friend asked for a copy of the audit done as part of awarding the contract for running the CRC project to David Evans Associates.
The next thing she knew, she was a defendant in a lawsuit filed by David Evans. This was covered in the Oregonian here.
This makes one wonder what David Evans is trying to hide?
- Was some powerful person trying to remain in the shadows?
- Are they in financial trouble? Or are they filthy rich?
- Were irregularities found?
- Perhaps something that could have predicted that a $50 million (approx) initial contract would end up costing over $150 million? Was this a pattern with previous jobs?
When the judge granted a temporary restraining order to prevent the release of the documents until after a hearing, he made some changes requiring that David Evans post a bond and narrowed the scope of the documents protected from disclosure.
